Who's on the platform

Staged verification. Structured listings.

Sell My Project is built specifically for project cars and unfinished builds. Sellers verify email when they create an account and set up their Garage. Phone verification is required at the Launch Price step — when a seller sets a sale price and moves toward auction — not for every account on day one. Buyers must verify phone, email, and put a card on file before they can Send It on a build. Listings include structured details — year, make, model, project status, build sheet — so you know what you're looking at.

How we keep deals honest

Public Q&A. Reports reviewed fast.

Before an auction ends, buyers and sellers communicate through the public Q&A on each listing — answers are visible to every buyer. Marketplace buyers and sellers can use Messages to chat about listings. We auto-block off-platform contact attempts in listings and Q&A. We don't process vehicle purchase payments — final deals happen directly between buyer and seller after the auction closes and contact details are shared. If you ever see anything suspicious, use Report this build on the listing. We read every report within 24 hours.

Before you pay

Safe-transaction guidance Stay smart.

Sell My Project connects buyers and sellers. We do not guarantee transactions or provide purchase protection. Use this guidance to reduce risk:

  • Verify the title and VIN before you pay.
  • Confirm the seller's identity matches the listing and Garage profile.
  • Before an auction ends, ask questions in the public Q&A on the listing. For marketplace listings, use Messages to chat with the seller.
  • Complete payment by bank wire at a financial institution or in person when possible.
  • Consider a third-party escrow service for higher-value deals.
  • Never send a deposit to hold a vehicle off-platform.
For sellers

Verified bidders only. Private until close.

Before anyone can bid on your build, they verify identity and put a card on file. Pre-sale questions stay in public Q&A. Contact details stay private until the auction ends and both sides confirm the sale. SMP does not escrow sale funds or guarantee the buyer will complete payment.

  • Verified buyers only
  • Card on file required before bidding
  • Buyer and seller contact details remain private until the auction ends — use public Q&A before then, or Messages for marketplace listings
